What PostHog is
PostHog is an all-in-one product analytics platform: event capture, funnels, retention, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and a data warehouse, on PostHog Cloud or self-hosted. It answers how people use the product. Vesqo reads a small part of that, the hourly counts and each customer's activity, and answers a different question: what changed, who did it hit, and what does it cost.
What Vesqo is
Vesqo is a business observability tool for SaaS companies: it reads Stripe, PostHog, GitHub, Sentry, support and CRM together and writes up what changed, which paying customers it hit, and what it costs. It reads PostHog as one of its sources.
The same questions, put to both
| Question | PostHog | Vesqo |
|---|---|---|
| How the product is used | Every event, by person and group: funnels, paths, retention, recordings. | The hourly count, the key event, and each customer's daily activity. For the funnel, open PostHog. |
| When something dropped | Trends and funnels over any window; alerts on a metric. | Each hour after a release against the same hour of the day the week before, so a quiet night is not a broken checkout. |
| Why it dropped | Segment by property; watch the recordings. | The release nine minutes before it, the errors in Sentry, the conversations in the inbox: one signal. |
| Who it hit | Persons and groups, with their properties. | The paying customers, with what each pays, from Stripe. |
| What it costs | Revenue analytics, from revenue events you send it. | The MRR of the customers in it and the payments that failed in the window, read from Stripe directly. |
| Customer health | Retention and engagement, by cohort. | One page per customer: usage against last month next to payments, support, the CRM deal and the news; a renewal risk written before the cancellation. |
| Asking questions | SQL, HogQL and an AI assistant, over PostHog's data. | Ask Vesqo, over every source at once, with names and amounts. |
Using both
Connect PostHog to Vesqo with one click on PostHog Cloud, or a personal API key. Name the key event (checkout_completed, signup_completed) and, if a group type stands for a company, name that too.
Keep PostHog for understanding the product. Let Vesqo tell you when the numbers moved, what shipped just before, and who pays.
